The team at Breen Sport Horses are home following an amazing 3 week tour in Italy.

We started off at Equieffe – Gorla Minore with the A team – Highland President, Germaine W, Toyger, Jicarla T, Dancing Wolf OL and of course Kilmustalla Douglas.

On the first day, all of the horses were quick off the blocks to jump some fantastic rounds. Caroline and Kilmastulla Douglas started off in fine style, taking a 3rd place finish.

Trevor’s horses all jumped some stellar rounds with Germaine W throwing some serious shapes in the 4* 1.45 Ranking to jump clear. Toyger and Highland President made light work of the 4* 1.40 on grass, landing just outside of the placings. Old Lodge’s Jircarla T jumped a phenomenal round in the 4* 1.35, looking better than ever in her 8-year-old year!

TOYGER

The horses got better and better each time they stepped into the ring, with Jircarla adding to the clear round tally on Friday in the 4* 1.35 whilst ‘Archie’ cruised around the 4* 1.50 Ranking for another easy clear – what a talented horse that we are more than honored to have bred and produced ourselves.

Proving ever-consistent, Highland President jumped an amazing round in the 4* Grand Prix for an unlucky pole to round off the weekend.

Following a great start in Gorla, the team hit the road to take on the Toscana Tour based in Arezzo.

The horses were quick off the blocks in week one, with Toyger and Germaine W clear in the 3* 1.40 to land in the money.

GERMAINE W

Highland President also posted a clear round in the 3* 1.45. Caroline rode to a top 10 finish aboard Kilmastulla Douglas in the 1* 1.20 to claim 8th, with Trevor and Jircarla T jumping into the prize money in the 3* 1.40 on Friday.  Germaine W finished off Friday on a high, finishing in 5th in the 3* Ranking Class.

KILMASTULLA DOUGLAS

The results kept rolling into the weekend, with Sunday seeing Caroline and “Dougie” in the money again in the 1* 1.20. The Old Lodge’s Dancing Wolf OL and Jircarla T went head to head in the 3* 1.35 and did not disappoint. Jircarla T was fast and clear to claim 5th place, but it was Dancing Wolf OL who landed on the podium to take bronze position.

The team picked up right where they left off for week 2, with Highland President clear in the 3* 1.45 and Toyger not touching a fence in the 3* 1.40.

Jircarla T jumped a very classy round in the 3* 1.40 to add another 10th place to her resume, but Dancing Wolf OL stole the show in the 3* 1.35. Not only did he stun the crowd with his flashy back end and text book form, but ‘Mylo’ proved to be best in class by speeding to first place – we are so proud of this stallion who has been a pleasure to produce over the past year and results like this make it all worth it.

JICARLA T

It was deju vu for Trevor and ‘Mylo’ on Saturday, as they again claimed first position again, this time in a very competitive 3* 1.40 – yet again proving how class this stallion is. Not to be outdone, Germaine W stepped up to the challenge in the 3* Ranking class to finish in 12th, a qualifying finish for Sundays 3* Grand Prix.

The last day of our two weeks at Arezzo ended on a high, with Toyger placing 10th in the 3* 1.45m Ranking Class, and Dancing Wolf OL keeping up his great performance for a 5th in the 3* 1.35.

DANCING WOLF OL

Rounding off the tour in incredible style, our homebred Highland President sped to 2nd in the 3* Grand Prix. We couldn’t be prouder of this homebred gelding who has gone from strength to strength this year and proving to be the top athlete we always knew he would be.

HIGHLAND PRESIDENT

A huge thanks to our sponsors for their endless support and our team for their tireless efforts that make tours like these possible. A special mention to the teams at Arezzo and Gorla who both put on an incredible show, despite the inclement weather. We can’t wait to be back soon.
