April was another busy month at BSH, with Mia having a month to remember whilst Trevor kept busy in Montefalco!
Starting off strong at POYS, Mia and Michael Duffy’s ‘Crack 41’ shared the win in the Children On Horses Team GB Trials at the Pony of the Year Youth Festival, being one of the four double clears in the competition. Finishing a dream weekend on a high, Mia and ‘Nemo’ jumped double clear to claim third in the Championship Final. An incredible performance for this new pairing and an incredible weekend!
Following their fantastic weekend at POYS, Mia and ‘Crack 41’ were then selected for their first-ever Team GB Nations Cup, so the team headed to Compiègne. Mia and ‘Crack 41’ jumped two incredible clear rounds to help Team GB secure 2nd place in the Children’s On Horses Nations Cup, making everyone at Breen Sport Horses proud! As if that wasn’t enough, Mia and ‘Crack 41’ jumped double clear in their first CSIO Children’s Grand Prix, finishing 12th! A big shoutout to Nemo, the horse with the biggest heart, owned by Michael Duffy.
On the back of their dream weekend in Compiègne, Team GB then headed to Busto Arsizio, where they were on the next stop of the Nations Cup circuit. The team secured another podium in the COH Nations Cup, taking home the bronze, where Mia and ‘Crack 41’ delivered a crucial clear as pathfinders under pressure. Thank you to British Showjumping for the ongoing support and opportunities.
Whilst Mia was out securing podium Nations Cup finishes, Trevor and his team of horses were out competing and picking up results themselves! First off, two weeks in Montefalco were highlighted by ‘Drewmain Musachino’ jumping clear in the 1m50 jump-off and finishing in the placings, as well as jumping clear in the CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix. ‘Kannoon Blue’ achieved a 7th place finish in the CSI4* 1m50 Jump Off Class—another fantastic result!
Just last weekend in Bourg-En-Bresse, the star of the show was ‘Drewmain Musachino’, who made light work of the CSI4* 1m40, finishing 11th to then jump clear over the fences in the CSI4* 1m50 to finish in 8th. ‘Kannoon Blue’ also jumped a great round in the CSI4* 1m55 Grand Prix, jumping at this level with ease.
A huge month we will be remembering for a while – thank you to everyone who makes it possible!
