While the team at home has been settling into the new indoor arena and making the most of welcome shelter from the winter weather for their first jumps of 2026, with all our training clients in the UK gearing up for MET III in Oliva Nova, Trevor has enjoyed a busy start to the year competing under the UAE sunshine.
Early January saw competition get underway at the CSI5* President’s Cup, where ‘Kannoon Blue’ began the season confidently with a flawless double clear to finish 5th in the opening CSI5* 1m45 class. ‘Konrad Obolensky’ also started 2026 on a positive note, jumping clear in the CSI2* 1m40 to finish in the money, while ‘Highland President’ produced a strong double clear in the CSI5* 1m50.
Momentum carried into the following week at Al Forsan, with ‘Konrad Obolensky’ placing 8th after another clear round in the CSI2* 1m40, and ‘Kannoon Blue’ following up with a 6th-place finish in the CSI2* 1.45m Grand Prix qualifier. Later in the month at the Al Shira’aa Tour in Abu Dhabi, ‘Konrad Obolensky’ continued his consistent run of form, securing a podium finish in the CSI4* 1m40 before adding a speedy clear round in the CSI4* 1m45 Hickstead Speed Derby to finish 5th.
The month concluded in Sharjah, where ‘Kannoon Blue’ and Trevor represented Ireland in the CSIO4* 1m55 Nations’ Cup. The 10-year-old gelding made a confident debut at that level, contributing to the Irish team’s 3rd-place podium finish. ‘Konrad Obolensky’ continued his strong form, finishing 8th in the CSI4* 1m45 Ranking Class before placing 5th in the CSIO4* 1m50 Grand Prix following a flawless double clear – an exciting debut at this level for this special 9-year-old.
As we step into February, we want to thank our team, sponsors, and owners for their continued support. Their commitment remains an important part of our progress as the season moves forward.
